About the role
Role Overview
Framestore is seeking an Animator to join the London studio. This is a project-based contract from June to December 2024. The role involves working on advertising, design, creative technology, immersive, and visual effects content.
Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality keyframe animation that creates compelling, story-driven, and action-packed moments.
- Ensure animation fits within the style and pacing of the show.
- Animate both primary and secondary characters and elements.
- Maintain ongoing communication with Production and Leads regarding schedules and deadlines.
- Work efficiently as part of a team or independently to complete assigned shots.
- Submit shots for review and follow through with notes and feedback.
- Meet schedules, deadlines, and work under pressure.
Mandatory Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of Maya.
- Understanding of physical motion, weight, balance, texture, and form.
- Understanding of rigs, typical rigging set-ups, animation pipelines, and transferring data between tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Openness to direction and ability to embrace change.
- Reliability and good timekeeping.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Must be a UK citizen or possess the right to work in the UK.
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of Modeling, Rigging, and Mel/Python scripting.
- Traditional animation and/or art background.
- Knowledge of human and animal anatomy.
- Life-drawing skills.
Working Conditions
- Location: London studio (Hybrid).
