Experienced Gameplay Animator – 3+ Month Freelance Contract
September Start
We are looking for an experienced gameplay animator with practical knowledge of game development experience with high end keyframe third person combat and locomotion. Preferably with multiple shipped titles.
UK AND EUROPE BASED GAMEPLAY EXPERIENCED ANIMATORS ONLY PLEASE
This is a 3 month minimum freelance contract which we’re hoping will extend but unfortunately can’t guarantee anything at this time.
We are a 4 day a week studio, we close every Friday.
Responsibilities
- Create high quality, hand keyed animations.
- Work with the project leads and collaborate with other disciplines to ensure the animations work as intended in the game.
- Help with feedback and support less experienced animators.
- Work with both handkey and motion capture data.
- Problem solve typical game dev issues.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in gameplay animation.
- Previous experience in games development, with multiple shipped titles under your belt.
- A demoreel demonstrating strong keyframe combat, excellent body mechanics and gameplay mechanics.
- Capable of accurately estimating work and meeting deadlines.
- In depth knowledge of Maya.
- Experience in UE5 advantageous.
- Be pleasant to work with, communicate well, understand briefs, meet deadlines.
- Be accountable & responsible, a clear communicator and problem solver.

We are looking for a Junior Animator with a passion for games development.

- Take direction and feedback from your lead and respond positively.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure the animations works as intended in the game.
- Exceptional self management skills.

- Ability to adapt and work with new technologies and workflows.
- In depth knowledge of Mayas animation tools and standard / best practices.
- Ability to implement your work in engine, working with state machines and other related concepts.

Lead 3D Games Animator – Permanent
Europe Remote, Or Leamington Spa Office
We are looking for a Lead Animator with practical knowledge of game development.
You will be leading projects and working alongside the animation team to create believable high-quality character animations. A strong understanding of the principals is essential with a keen eye for adding character and personality to your work. You will be able to project manage, liaise with clients and manage multiple animators and their workload.
Responsibilities
- Have a minimum 7 years industry experience in video games, freelance experience a bonus.
- Create high quality, hand keyed character, creature and environmental animations.
- Lead and collaborate with other disciplines to ensure the animations works as intended in the game.
- Exceptional self management skills.
- Manage / mentor internal and external animators.
- Be pleasant to work with, communicate well, understand briefs, meet deadlines.
- Be accountable & responsible, a clear communicator and problem solver.
- Ability to adapt and work with new technologies and workflows.
- Ability to switch up styles from cartoony to realistic.
- Experience working with motion capture data and leading shoots.
- Capable of creating schedules and committing to delivery dates.
- In depth knowledge of Maya and have an understanding and experience with rigging and skinning.
- Ability to implement your work in engine, working with state machines and other related concepts.
- Experience with multiple game engines and multiple shipped titles. Experience in Unity and UE4/5 advantageous.
