Internship Overview

Activision is seeking innovative students to join teams for a summer 2027 internship. All internships are in-person, with hosting managers determining the specific frequency of office attendance. The program provides a meaningful project, access to tools and resources, and the opportunity for challenging, creative work that impacts the team.


Responsibilities

As an Analytics Engineering Intern, you will partner with teams across Marketing, Analytics, Engineering, Product, and Player Insights to solve business challenges using data. Specific tasks include:

  • Contributing to data pipelines, analytics services, and AI-powered data products.
  • Transforming business questions into scalable, reliable solutions, including trusted data products, agentic systems, and AI-enabled tools.
  • Assisting with testing, validation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of data products.
  • Gaining experience with data governance, observability, access controls, and engineering best practices.
  • Building maintainable, high-quality solutions that balance performance, scalability, privacy, and security.
  • Working under the guidance of senior engineers or technical leads on scoped tasks that contribute to larger cross-functional projects.

Program Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program, graduating between December 2027 and June 2028.
  • Available for a 12-week internship starting in late-May or mid-June.
  • Currently residing in the US or open to relocating oneself to the US.
  • Exhibits learning agility: ability to think differently and apply new skills.
  • Approaches problems in a clear, well-organized, and solutions-oriented manner.
  • Works well within teams and contributes to collaborative tasks.
  • Effective communication skills regarding problems, solutions, needs, or priorities.
  • Demonstrates engagement, a desire to learn, and effective time management.
  • Must apply with a resume and a link to code samples.

Qualifications

  • Required:
    • Enrollment in a degree program focused on Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
    • Demonstrated experience with Python and SQL through coursework, research, personal projects, student work, or previous internships.
    • Foundational understanding of data structures, algorithms, relational data, data modeling, ETL/ELT concepts, and software engineering fundamentals.
    • Solid understanding of the deployment and maintenance of Agents, Skills, and agentic systems.
    • Exposure to version control and collaborative development practices (e.g., Git, code review, automated testing, or CI/CD) through academic or project-based work.
    • Ability to investigate problems independently and make progress with incomplete information.
    • Strong attention to detail.
  • Bonus Qualifications:
    • Exposure to Databricks, Apache Spark, PySpark, Delta Lake, or other distributed processing frameworks.
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) including storage, compute, networking, and IAM/security concepts.

Location and Logistics

  • Hosting Location: Activision Publishing (Santa Monica, CA).
  • Relocation: Interns have the option to opt into relocation services (flights, trains, or car mileage reimbursement).
  • Stipend: A living stipend is provided to subsidize housing, utilities, commuting, and miscellaneous costs.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base Pay: $20.00 - $50.00 hourly.
  • Incentive Compensation: Potential eligibility for incentive compensation (not guaranteed).
