The analytics team provides end-to-end services to support the game development lifecycle.
Role Overview
The Lead Analytics Developer works in a cross-disciplinary engineering team to scale the analytics platform, expand its reach, and define/build the future of analytics for PlayStation games. The role involves working directly with game studios and data analysts to design and validate in-game telemetry and requires a passion for video games.
Responsibilities
- First Six Months:
- Work on new title launches.
- Build data models to ensure efficient and consistent queries.
- Collaborate with game studios and data analysts to design and validate in-game telemetry.
- Expand the use of technologies such as dbt and Airflow.
- Ongoing:
- Own data models for specific games.
- Work closely with the Game Analytics team and game studio colleagues to ensure consistency and performance.
- Scale the analytics platform.
Qualifications
- Mandatory Requirements:
- Adept at writing SQL on analytics (OLAP) databases (preferably Redshift or similar).
- Experience implementing and using data modelling tools such as dbt or SQLMesh.
- Experience in transforming business needs into data model requirements and solutions.
- Interest in Big Data projects and technology.
- Commitment to quality and interest in repeatable, testable, destructible, test-driven database development.
- Bonus Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science.
- Experience with Python, AWS Glue, source control (Git, Liquibase), and Airflow.
- Familiarity with AAA game development and modern console games.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base Pay: Varies by geographic location; an example range for Seattle is $141,900 - $212,900 CAD.
