ZAG STUDIOS

Overview

ZAG STUDIOS (also known as ZAG or ZAG Entertainment) is an independent animation studio and entertainment group specializing in the development, financing, and production of high-end CGI 3D animated television series and feature films. Founded in 2009 by Jeremy Zag and Jacqueline Tordjman, the studio has established itself as a global creator of character-driven, action-comedy superhero franchises.

Creative & Production Model

Unlike traditional work-for-hire vendors, ZAG operates as an IP-centric production house. The studio maintains internal control over the entire creative pipeline, including visual development, storyboarding, character design, and musical composition. While pre-production and creative direction are centralized in its Paris and Los Angeles hubs, the studio utilizes a collaborative international model, partnering with established animation houses worldwide for downstream production and rendering execution.

Franchise Strategy

ZAG employs a 360-degree franchise model, integrating broadcast storytelling with global consumer product licensing, digital gaming, and e-commerce. The studio's marquee property, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, serves as the cornerstone of its portfolio, supported by other original IPs such as Ghostforce, Zak Storm, and Power Players. In 2024, the company consolidated the management of the Miraculous franchise into Miraculous Corp, a joint venture with Mediawan, allowing ZAG STUDIOS to focus its independent production capacity on a growing slate of new projects, including the musical feature Melody and the Carmen franchise.
