Operating as a comprehensive production ecosystem, the studio provides world-class physical production facilities, including over 350,000 square feet of soundstage space, a 100-acre clear-horizon backlot, and specialized water filming tanks. The site serves as a major hub for global tentpole features and high-end television series, while also housing the popular Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter.

Beyond its physical stages, the studio offers an end-to-end production experience through its specialized divisions:

• Production Support: The studio maintains in-house departments for set lighting, rigging, power generation, and transportation, alongside extensive workshop and office spaces.
• Post-Production: Operating under the historic Warner Bros. De Lane Lea brand, the company provides boutique post-production services. This includes Dolby Atmos-certified sound mixing, ADR recording, 4K HDR colour grading, and VFX online finishing. These services are delivered from a flagship subterranean facility in Soho, London, connected to the Leavesden lot via high-speed dark fibre.
• Commercial Hub: The studio operates Leavesden Park, a creative business campus offering flexible office and production space for industry tenants.

History and Evolution

The site originated as the Leavesden Aerodrome in 1940, later transitioning into a manufacturing facility before its repurposing for film production in 1994. Warner Bros. acquired the freehold in 2010 and completed a multi-year redevelopment, officially opening the permanent studio complex in 2012. The company continues to expand its footprint, with ongoing infrastructure projects and the addition of new technical facilities in central London to support evolving digital cinema workflows.
