About Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences
Overview
Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences is the dedicated division responsible for the development and management of themed entertainment, location-based experiences, and global consumer products licensing for the studio's extensive intellectual property portfolio. Formed through the strategic consolidation of licensed themed entertainment and owned-and-operated studio tours and retail, the division translates iconic film, television, and animation franchises into immersive physical environments and commercial programs.
Core Operations
The studio operates at the intersection of creative design and commercial execution, managing a diverse range of global assets:
- Themed Entertainment: Development of master plans, attraction concepts, and immersive lands for global theme park partners, including the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi.
- Studio Tours & Attractions: Ownership and operation of flagship visitor experiences, including the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood, Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, and Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo.
- Experiential Retail: Management of dedicated flagship retail destinations, such as the Harry Potter New York store, which integrate interactive exhibits with branded merchandise.
- Touring Exhibitions: Production and global distribution of traveling interactive experiences, including Harry Potter: The Exhibition, The FRIENDS Experience, and the Game of Thrones Studio Tour.
Creative Governance
To maintain franchise integrity across all physical touchpoints, the division utilizes centralized creative governance systems. These platforms facilitate rigorous brand assurance, including 2D/3D design reviews, costume and prop verification, and environmental build oversight. By bridging the gap between cinematic storytelling and physical reality, the division ensures that every guest experience—from motion-based attractions to pop-up activations—adheres to the established canon of its parent franchises. Following the 2026 acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery by Skydance Corporation, the division continues to operate as a key experiential unit within the broader Skydance corporate structure.
