About Visual Concepts
Visual Concepts is an AAA game-development studio focused on high-end interactive entertainment and sports simulation. Founded in Novato, California, in 1988 by Greg Thomas, Jeff Thomas and Scott Patterson, the studio developed early console titles including ClayFighter, Taz-Mania and the Super Nintendo version of Madden NFL '94 before becoming a major force in sports games.
Sega acquired the independent studio in 1999 to lead its Sega Sports lineup. During that period, Visual Concepts launched the NBA 2K and NFL 2K franchises, combining broadcast-style presentation, player AI, animation and simulation systems. Take-Two Interactive acquired the studio and related Sega development assets in January 2005; Visual Concepts subsequently became an internal development studio under the 2K publishing label.
Today, the studio leads the annual NBA 2K franchise and has developed entries in the WWE 2K series, as well as LEGO 2K Drive. Its broader catalogue includes NHL 2K, Major League Baseball 2K, College Hoops 2K, All-Pro Football 2K8, Floigan Bros. and Ooga Booga.

Visual Concepts' work spans full-cycle AAA production, including:
