ustwo is a London-founded digital product design and engineering studio that combines human-centred research, UX/UI design, product strategy and full-stack software development. Founded in 2004 by Matthew “Mills” Miller and John “Sinx” Sinclair, it works with organisations on digital products and services across mobile, web and emerging technology.

Its work spans discovery, opportunity validation, prototyping, design systems, usability testing, native and cross-platform application development, web architecture, API integration and cloud-native delivery. The studio also supports client capability building through embedded co-creation and agile workflow coaching.

The studio’s sector experience includes healthcare and life sciences, financial services, mobility and travel, consumer technology, retail, and public or non-profit services. Supported work includes The Body Coach App, Peloton Lanebreak, The Cancer Platform, Sproutiful, Moodnotes, Wayfindr, Create with Google, Qantas’s inflight Wi-Fi portal, Backlot Club and the UN OCHA Humanitarian Data Exchange.

Employee ownership and current direction

ustwo became a Certified B Corporation in December 2019. In April 2022, its founders and shareholder Marcus Woxneryd transferred 62% of the company’s equity to an Employee Ownership Trust, giving employees partner representation on the board and annual profit sharing. Nicki Sprinz became global Chief Executive Officer in September 2024, while co-founder John Sinclair serves as Chair.

The company operates as a hybrid global studio network, with its current work focused on digital product design, systems architecture, mobile and web engineering, and client-partner transformation. Although early games including Monument Valley originated under the ustwo banner, game development was spun out into the separately operated ustwo games Ltd in 2015.
