About The Embassy
The Embassy is an independent visual-effects and digital-production studio founded in Vancouver in 2002. Its work spans feature film, episodic television, advertising and branded content, combining live-action production experience with photorealistic visual effects.
The studio’s capabilities cover concept art and pre-visualization, on-set VFX supervision, modelling, texturing, rigging, keyframe and motion-capture animation, creature effects and simulation, lighting, look development, compositing, and commercial finishing. Its artists create CGI characters and creatures, vehicles, environments, hard-surface assets, motion graphics and complex digital composites.
Screen and commercial work
The Embassy has contributed visual effects to productions including District 9, Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3, Elysium, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Chappie, Battleship, Cowboys & Aliens, Ender’s Game and Kalki 2898 AD.
Its episodic credits include Warrior Nun, The Spiderwick Chronicles, House of David, Superman & Lois, The Flight Attendant, Lost in Space, The Man in the High Castle, The Twilight Zone, Animal Control and Murder in a Small Town. The studio served as lead VFX vendor on both seasons of Warrior Nun, delivering more than 800 visual-effects shots.
Commercial work includes campaigns for Citroën, Nissan, Nike, Pennzoil, BMW, EA and Disney. An early landmark was Citroën’s 2004 “Alive with Technology” film, directed by Neill Blomkamp, which used photorealistic effects to transform a car into a dancing robot.
Continuing expansion
The Embassy operates from Vancouver and expanded its North American presence with a Culver City, California facility in 2020. The studio continues to balance commercial advertising with large-scale feature and streaming productions through a flexible hybrid studio culture.
