Surfing Giant Studios

Surfing Giant Studios is a full-service animation, development and music-driven content studio built to take projects from script to screen. Established through an international joint venture between Alcon Sleeping Giant and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh’s Surfer Jack Studios, it combines 2D and 3D animation production with original IP development, music composition, voice recording and audio post-production.

The studio’s services span pre-production, including scriptwriting, storyboarding, concept art, visual development, character and prop design, and voice casting; production across 2D animation, 3D CGI, layout, background painting and rigging; and finishing work such as animation editorial, colour finishing, sound design, mixing and digital master delivery. Its audio capabilities include original songwriting, film and television scoring, voiceover and ADR recording, and final mixes for 5.1 and Dolby Atmos delivery.

Connected production model

Surfing Giant works through a transatlantic production network linking North American creative and music resources with European animation production. Its European hubs use standardized Toon Boom Harmony 2D and Maya 3D pipelines, supporting connected work between artists, showrunners and composers. The company developed discreetly from 2022 and was publicly unveiled in February 2023.

Screen work and development

The studio made its television debut with Hey A.J!, a preschool animated comedy produced in association with Disney Junior and inspired by books by Martellus Bennett. The series premiered in January 2026 across Disney Junior, Disney Channel and Disney+. Surfing Giant is also developing proprietary IP and is attached to the in-production Disney Television Animation action-adventure series Carmen.

Its work serves television animation, streaming video-on-demand, children’s and preschool programming, family entertainment, theatrical motion pictures, broadcast television and commercial soundtrack publishing.
