About Studio Meala
Studio Meala is an independent Irish animation production studio specialising in high-end, hand-drawn paperless 2D animation and original IP development. Founded in 2019, it combines a core in-house team with hybrid and remote production talent to create work for broadcast, streaming, film, games, advertising and independent projects.
Its creative pipeline spans development through delivery, including script writing, storyboarding, concept design, visual development, art direction, animation direction, frame-by-frame character animation, clean-up, digital ink and paint, compositing, background art, project management, and finance and funding development.
Original work and production services
The studio develops its own animated properties while also providing full-service production support for partners. Its original projects include Doodle Girl, a preschool series co-produced with Alt Animation for RTÉjr; Queen Maeve, a mythological animated feature concept supported through Screen Ireland development; and the Studio Meala Minis micro-short series.
Selected production credits include:

- Rocket Knight Adventures: Re-Sparked, an official animated trailer
- PEN15, an animated special episode
- Saving Chops and Bear With Me for RTÉ platforms
- Knights of Guinevere, with lineart and digital ink-and-paint work
- Animated music videos for The Living Tombstone
- Promotional animation for Cyberpunk 2077 and Warframe: Mission Critical
Creative focus
Studio Meala’s work centres on traditional animation craft adapted for contemporary digital production. The studio creates frame-by-frame character animation and supports projects from early story and design through finished compositing. Its market work includes episodic television and streaming, feature animation, game cinematics and trailers, commercial campaigns, music videos, short films and independently developed content.
The company is a private limited company registered in Ireland and operates as an active independent studio.
