Studio Bopa

Studio Bopa is a boutique animation studio based in Melbourne, Australia, specializing in character-driven 2D and pixel animation. Founded in 2025 by directors Jale Soysal and Scott Collopy, the studio operates as a collaborative creative partnership, merging high-level technical pipeline expertise with a distinct fine-arts aesthetic. The studio focuses on delivering bespoke, hand-crafted animation for commercial, digital, and independent media markets.

Creative Philosophy

At the core of Studio Bopa’s output is a synthesis of traditional 2D animation techniques and sculptural design. Co-director Jale Soysal, an accomplished fine artist and sculptor, informs the studio’s visual development, ensuring volumetric consistency and a unique, often surrealist, design language. Co-director Scott Collopy provides the technical foundation, leveraging extensive experience in feature film and commercial advertising pipelines to ensure high-fidelity execution across all project scales.

Operational Model

Studio Bopa functions as an agile, lean entity. By maintaining a boutique core, the studio remains highly selective with its commercial engagements while retaining the flexibility to scale for larger productions by contracting specialized regional talent. This model allows the studio to maintain creative control and artistic integrity, positioning it as a premium vendor for clients seeking character-focused, narrative-rich animation.
