About Squint/Opera

Squint/Opera is a creative digital production, experiential design and architectural-visualization studio founded in London in 2001. It translates architectural, cultural and spatial ideas into cinematic narratives, interactive media and immersive public experiences for the built environment, museums, heritage organisations, developers and visitor attractions.

The studio combines visual storytelling with technical production across 3D CGI animation, architectural films, live-action integration, visual effects and real-time experiences. Its work also encompasses permanent and temporary exhibitions, projection mapping, media installations, digital placemaking, interactive sales suites, touchscreen systems and VR/AR simulations. This blend allows the team to develop work ranging from masterplan communications and competition presentations to visitor journeys and cultural interpretation.

Built environment and cultural experiences

Squint/Opera works across architecture, urban development, cultural institutions, entertainment and public-sector commissions. Its supported project work includes the media experience for the Zayed National Museum; immersive narrative installations for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka; the Empire State Building Observatory Experience; Lift 109 at Battersea Power Station; and the interactive and audiovisual installations at Cité du Vin in Bordeaux.

Other credited work spans vision films and thematic content for Qiddiya City and Six Flags Qiddiya, the Mindfulness City masterplan film in Bhutan, immersive media for Showtown Blackpool, F1 DRIVE London, the Peak Tram renovation in Hong Kong, and exhibition media for the V&A.

Part of Journey

In November 2022, Squint/Opera merged into Journey as a founding studio. It remains an active, distinct creative studio within Journey’s multidimensional-experience network, collaborating with specialist sister practices while continuing to deliver direct digital and experiential commissions. Its international studio hubs support cross-continental work on architectural, cultural and destination-led projects.
