About Squeeze Studio Animation
Squeeze Studio Animation is a Québec-based full-service 3D animation studio creating character-driven work for feature films, episodic television, game cinematics, commercials and location-based entertainment. Founded in 2011, the studio combines stylized and hyper-realistic character performance with technical production capabilities spanning modeling, rigging, layout, lighting, shading, rendering and compositing.
Its animation practice covers keyframe performance, visual development and previsualization, alongside game trailers, cutscenes and scripted in-game animation. Squeeze also operates MOOV, its motion-capture division, which provides full-performance capture, optical tracking, retargeting and data cleanup for film and game pipelines.
Production capabilities
- High-end 3D character animation for film, television and interactive projects
- Motion capture and performance-capture workflows
- Real-time animation pipeline and tool development, including Unreal Engine integration
- Maya, Houdini Solaris and Pixar USD-based production workflows
- Original IP development, storytelling and co-production
The studio developed its own original property, Cracké, a comedic 3D animated series about an overprotective ostrich father. The property later expanded with Cracké Family Scramble and a mobile-game franchise. Its reported credits also include work on Marvel Studios' What If...?, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Troll: The Tale of a Tail, Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry, Batman: Arkham Origins and Gotham Knights.
Squeeze joined the Cinesite Group in July 2022, when Cinesite acquired a majority stake. The studio has retained its individual brand, creative leadership and Québec production presence while contributing animation, real-time and motion-capture capabilities within the wider group. It remains active in feature animation, episodic series and AAA game-cinematic production.
