About Softgames
Softgames is a Berlin-founded developer and publisher of casual, social and cross-platform games designed for instant play. Its work spans HTML5, mobile and messenger-based games, with a focus on free-to-play experiences, live operations, advertising monetization and in-app purchases. The company develops and distributes games for web, mobile and instant-game platforms, including Meta and Samsung Instant.
Founded in October 2006, the studio began by making J2ME mobile titles for German television networks, including projects such as Galileo Sudoku and the official mobile adaptation of Germany's Next Topmodel. It moved into freemium browser games in 2010, then made a strategic shift in 2012 toward ad-supported, cross-platform casual games built with HTML5. White-label products and syndication to browser portals helped establish its early reach in web gaming.
A significant milestone came in November 2016, when Softgames was selected as one of 15 global launch partners for Facebook Messenger Instant Games. Its Cookie Crush launch reached three million players in its first week, while Bubble Shooter Pro grew into the largest game on Facebook Instant Games according to the supplied research.
