About Secret Mode
Secret Mode is a British video-game publisher and developer based in Royal Leamington Spa. Established in 2020, it initially operated as Sumo Group's publishing division before completing a management buyout in 2025. The business now operates independently, backed by Emona Capital.
The company works with external development partners and internal teams to publish games for PC and console audiences. Its catalogue includes narrative games, multiplayer titles, simulation experiences and independent releases, with projects distributed through major digital platforms.
Publishing support
Secret Mode supports developers across production, release and ongoing player engagement. Its work includes commercial planning, production management, marketing, public relations, community activity, creator campaigns and platform-facing release support.
The publisher also provides quality-assurance and certification services, including build verification, bug reporting, regression testing and first-party platform submission support. These services are intended to help projects move from development milestones through launch and post-release updates.
Development and live operations
In 2026, Secret Mode announced an internal development studio in Sheffield focused on live operations, post-launch updates, DLC, maintenance and platform porting. The studio supports games including Escape the Backrooms, Chained Together and NUTMEG! A Nostalgic Deckbuilding Football Manager.
Published titles include Still Wakes the Deep, A Little to the Left, Make Way, Pine Hearts, Loddlenaut, DEATHSPRINT 66, Parcel Corps, Turbo Golf Racing, Little Orpheus and Dear Esther: Landmark Edition. Through publishing, technical support and lifecycle work, Secret Mode collaborates with independent creators across development, launch and continued player support.
