About SDFX Studios
SDFX Studios is a visual-effects and immersive-content studio founded in 2009 as Stereo D. Originally known for feature-film 2D-to-3D conversion, the company expanded its practice into full-spectrum digital VFX, stereography and spatial-media production before formally adopting the SDFX Studios name in 2022.
The studio supports feature films, episodic television and streaming productions, theatrical 3D re-releases, immersive experiences and spatial-computing projects. Its work combines artist-led stereoscopic conversion with production services ranging from previs and look development to CG asset work, camera tracking, roto, prep, paint, wire removal, lighting, rendering and compositing.
Core capabilities
- Visual effects production: Digital VFX for feature, episodic and streaming work, including CG integration, environment work, cleanup and compositing.
- Stereoscopic and immersive production: 2D-to-3D conversion, native stereography, depth grading, on-set stereoscopic supervision, and spatial audio/video preparation.
- Scalable production support: High-volume rotoscoping, matchmove, tracking and clean-plate preparation for studios and partner VFX vendors.
SDFX Studios remains especially associated with stereoscopic work while applying that experience to broader VFX and immersive pipelines. Its credits include Titanic in 3D, The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Black Panther, Avengers: Endgame, The Mandalorian, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Deadpool & Wolverine and Wicked: For Good.
Operating within Company 3 Studios Inc. and the wider Company 3 / Framestore group, SDFX Studios combines North American creative teams with a global production workflow. The company’s services are structured for both lead VFX assignments and specialist overflow work, supporting demanding film and television schedules across stereoscopic conversion, digital effects and immersive formats.
