About Red Parrot Studios

Red Parrot Studios is a German animation, CGI and visual-effects studio established in 2014. It works across feature films, television and streaming productions, combining animation production with post-production and visual-effects delivery for original co-productions and client projects.

Its production capabilities span visual development, storyboarding, character and environment design, modelling, texturing, rigging, layout, 2D and 3D character animation, FX simulation, lighting, look development and final compositing. The studio also provides CGI integration, rotoscoping, clean-up, crowd work and digital compositing for live-action productions.

Screen work

Its credits include Moonbound, Tafiti – Across the Desert, The Mucklas… and How They Came to Pettson and Findus, the ARD/SWR series Friedefeld, Tehran Taboo, Little Germans, Tomorrow We Are Free and Pettersson und Findus – Findus zieht um.

Tehran Taboo combined rotoscope and CGI techniques and screened in Cannes' Semaine de la Critique in 2017. Red Parrot Studios has also contributed animation and VFX work to productions developed with European co-production partners.

Production approach

The company combines technical execution with creative production support, working from early concept development through character animation, visual effects and finishing. Alongside service work, it continues to develop and produce animated projects. Research-cited projects include Felix the Brave / Go with the Floh, Angst and Billie Beat.
