About Rebel Wolves
Rebel Wolves is a Warsaw-based Polish AAA game development studio focused on premium, narrative-driven dark fantasy role-playing games for PC and current-generation consoles. Formally incorporated in November 2021 and publicly introduced in February 2022, the independent studio was founded by experienced developers from major European RPG productions.
Its debut original IP, The Blood of Dawnwalker, is a dark fantasy action RPG set in the fictional Carpathian realm of Vale Sangora, a 14th-century world shaped by plague and vampires. Built in Unreal Engine 5, the game combines non-linear narrative sandbox design, branching player choices, cinematic storytelling, dual-form combat, and deep world-building. It launched on 3 September 2026 for Windows PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Development focus
Rebel Wolves develops original, full-scale RPG properties with an emphasis on player agency and systemic storytelling. Its capabilities include:
- Full-cycle AAA game development, from pre-production through post-launch support
- Original IP creation, creative design, and narrative world-building
- Unreal Engine 5 architecture, tooling, character animation, and creature animation
- Branching narrative design, non-linear quest structures, and cinematic storytelling
The studio retains ownership of its intellectual property and operates with creative autonomy. NetEase Games holds a strategic minority equity stake, while Bandai Namco Entertainment is the worldwide publishing partner for The Blood of Dawnwalker.
Rebel Wolves has grown from an initial core team into a studio of roughly 140–160 people. Following the release of its debut game, it has begun recruiting for the next installment of the planned Dawnwalker saga.
