Studio Overview

Plumeria Studio is an independent game development studio established in 2026. Operating as a lean, globally distributed team, the studio focuses on the creation of high-octane, anime-stylized action RPGs. The studio is currently dedicated to the development of its debut title, ProjectRush, a single-player and cooperative multiplayer game built within the Unity engine. By leveraging a remote-first model, the studio collaborates with a flexible roster of international freelance artists, animators, and technical specialists to execute its creative vision.

Creative Vision and Technical Pipeline

The studio’s aesthetic and mechanical philosophy centers on capturing the energy of Japanese animation through advanced game design. Plumeria Studio utilizes Unity’s Universal Render Pipeline (URP) to achieve a distinct Non-Photorealistic Rendering (NPR) style, moving away from traditional physically based rendering in favor of cel-shaded visuals. Key technical capabilities include:

• Combat Design: Development of fast-paced, readable combat systems featuring hit-stop mechanics, screen-space shifts, and complex combat locomotion.
• Visual Effects: Creation of stylized real-time VFX using Shader Graph and custom HLSL to maintain visual fidelity under flat lighting.
• Systems Architecture: Implementation of co-op multiplayer frameworks, companion AI, and modular character customization systems.

ProjectRush

ProjectRush serves as the studio's flagship project, designed as a premium, standalone experience. The game features a variety of distinct encounter zones, such as the Wolf Altar Arena and the Ink Arena, which emphasize boss-rush mechanics and dynamic environmental transitions. The studio is currently developing the title toward a playable proof-of-concept, with a roadmap that includes potential crowdfunding and publisher engagement to scale production for a PC release.
