About Playdemic
Playdemic is a British mobile-game developer and live-service studio operating within EA Mobile. Founded in 2010, it develops free-to-play games built around social play, real-time competition, and long-term player engagement across mobile platforms.
The studio began with social-network games before shifting its focus to free-to-play mobile development. Its early releases included Gourmet Ranch and Village Life: Love, Marriage and Babies, while its best-known title is Golf Clash, a real-time 1v1 mobile sports game available across iOS, Android, and Facebook.
Mobile live-service development
Playdemic combines game design, 2D and 3D art production, UI and UX design, software engineering, quality assurance, community management, and player support. Its specialist capabilities include:
- Free-to-play mobile game development
- Real-time PvP multiplayer and social gameplay systems
- Live operations and roadmap delivery
- Cross-platform architecture for iOS, Android, and Facebook
- Casual and competitive sports-game mechanics
The studio also collaborated with TT Games and Lucasfilm on LEGO Star Wars Battles, a real-time strategy game for Apple Arcade. Other credited projects include Gang Nations and Crossbow Clash.
Part of EA Mobile
After a brief period under RockYou in 2011 and later ownership by TT Games and Warner Bros. Games, Playdemic was acquired by Electronic Arts in 2021. It continues as an active EA Mobile studio, supporting Golf Clash through ongoing live operations and developing new mobile-service initiatives.
Playdemic’s work is rooted in mobile and interactive entertainment, with particular experience in sports, casual, and competitive games. Its operating focus combines accessible game design with persistent service management, enabling regular content, competition, and community-facing support for an established global player base.
