About nWave Studios
Founded in Brussels in 1994, nWave Studios is an independent European animation studio specializing in stereoscopic 3D CGI production. Also publicly branded as nWave Pictures, the company develops and produces animated feature films, immersive 3D and 4D attraction films, ride simulations, and giant-screen entertainment.
The studio began with 3D and 4D experiences for theme parks, museums, and large-format theatres before expanding into theatrical family animation. Its feature-film work includes Fly Me to the Moon, recognized in the supplied research as the first animated feature made natively for stereoscopic 3D, as well as A Turtle's Tale: Sammy's Adventures, The House of Magic, Robinson Crusoe, The Queen's Corgi, Bigfoot Family, Chickenhare and the Hamster of Darkness, The Inseparables, Chickenhare and the Secret of the Groundhog, and YUGLY.
Production capabilities
nWave manages a full CGI pipeline from storyboarding, visual development, character design, modelling, rigging, layout and pre-visualization through animation, lighting, rendering, compositing, sound design and post-production. Its work also includes international co-productions, custom commercial animation, digital stage visuals, and the licensing and distribution of attraction films.
- Original animated-feature development and production
- Stereoscopic 3D CGI animation and cinematic staging
- 4D special-venue and theme-park ride films

In addition to theatrical releases, the studio continues to create 4D experiences including Theater of Dreams and Drone Dash. Its custom work includes a 3D animated avatar and concert backdrop for Stromae's Multitude world tour, as well as an Ethias brand campaign.
Following a majority investment by MZM in 2018, nWave broadened its model from proprietary titles to selected international co-productions and client animation services. The company maintains a Belgian production pipeline spanning its Brussels base and a production studio established in Liège in 2024, supporting an ongoing slate of animated features and attraction content.
