About Nexus Studios
Nexus Studios is an independent creative studio and production company working across animation, live-action filmmaking and immersive experience design. Founded in London in 2000, it develops work for brands, entertainment platforms and cultural experiences, combining character-led storytelling with technical production for screen, spatial and interactive formats.
Its animation practice spans 2D, 3D/CG, stop-motion and mixed-media direction, alongside live-action, visual effects, motion design and branded content. The studio also develops original entertainment, including feature films, episodic series, shorts, documentaries and music-video projects. Through its Nexus Design Studio unit, it delivers title sequences, broadcast graphics, promotional identities and brand design systems.
Immersive and real-time work
Nexus Studios creates augmented and virtual reality experiences, spatial-computing projects, interactive installations, virtual production and digital puppetry. Its real-time storytelling work uses Unreal Engine, supported by in-house animation suites, a render farm, green-screen stages, edit facilities and physical-making workshops.
The studio’s immersive work includes Big Bang AR for CERN, Civilisations AR for the BBC, and interactive stadium installations for Major League Baseball and the NFL. It has also created large-format visual experiences for Noche UFC at the Las Vegas Sphere.
Selected work
Its credits include the Netflix stop-motion anthology The House; the Google Spotlight Stories virtual-reality short Pearl; Chipotle’s Back to the Start and A Future Begins; the BBC Winter Olympics campaign The Fearless Are Here; Gorillaz’s Cracker Island; and animated sequences for Billie Eilish’s Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles.
Nexus Studios also co-produced the preschool series Kazoops! with Mighty Nice. Its work has encompassed commercial campaigns, film and television, music, cultural institutions, sports entertainment and technology-led experiences.
