Nexters

Nexters is an international game developer and publisher focused on casual and mid-core games for mobile, web browsers and desktop platforms. Operating through Nexters Global Ltd, the studio develops live-service games that combine accessible play sessions with RPG progression, ongoing feature updates and cross-platform distribution.

Its best-known franchise is Hero Wars, which began with the 2016 release of the fantasy RPG and later expanded into Hero Wars: Alliance for mobile and Hero Wars: Dominion Era for browsers. The studio’s catalogue also includes strategy, adventure, farming and puzzle-oriented games such as Throne Rush, Island Hoppers: Mine & Farm, Island Experiment, Puzzle Odyssey and Chibi Island.

Game development and publishing

Nexters covers the full game lifecycle, including:

• Game design, programming, narrative design and live operations
• Publishing, performance marketing and user acquisition
• Concept art, 2D and 3D character animation, and interface engineering
• Mobile, browser and desktop porting and distribution
• Community moderation, player support and creator UGC programmes

Its technical and commercial focus includes free-to-play monetisation, LiveOps management, browser-based delivery, direct-to-consumer web commerce, and creative production pipelines using tools such as Cocos Creator, Spine and Unity.

Founded in 2010 by Andrey Fadeev and Boris Gertsovskiy, Nexters built on their earlier browser and social-game development experience. The business went public in 2021 through a combination with Kismet Acquisition One Corp; in 2023, its corporate parent was reorganised as GDEV Inc. Nexters remains the group’s core operating game-development studio, led by CEO Anton Reinhold.

Following the 2022 divestment of its Russian operating subsidiaries, Nexters relocated international personnel and continued development through its Cyprus, Armenia and Kazakhstan operations. Its principal markets include North America, Europe and Asia.
