About Neowiz
Neowiz is a South Korean video game developer and publisher creating and bringing games to market across PC, console, mobile, and live-service platforms. Its work spans original development, global publishing, localization, marketing, live operations, and community management, with activity across action RPGs, soulslikes, rhythm games, mobile RPGs, casual and idle games, narrative titles, and web-board games.
The company’s gaming operation was established through a 2007 corporate restructuring and was renamed Neowiz in 2017. It has evolved from Korean online-game publishing and platform activity into a multi-platform developer and publisher with international ambitions, combining internally developed projects with publishing partnerships and strategic studio investment.
Development and publishing
Neowiz’s internal development organization includes specialist teams working on distinct kinds of games:
- Nough, formerly Round8 Studio, develops high-fidelity PC and console projects. Its work includes Lies of P, the Belle Époque-inspired soulslike based on Carlo Collodi’s Pinocchio, as well as its expansion Lies of P: Overture.
- Rocky Studio is the company’s rhythm-game development division and is associated with the DJMAX franchise, including DJMAX RESPECT V.
Alongside its own development, Neowiz publishes projects from external developers and supports global releases. Its publishing catalogue includes SANABI, Skul: The Hero Slayer, Shape of Dreams, and Alliance of Valiant Arms (A.V.A.). The company has also developed and published Bless Unleashed, Bless Online, and Plebby Quest: The Crusades.
Portfolio focus
Neowiz’s portfolio combines premium PC and console releases with mobile and online games. Its games include BrownDust2, Cats & Soup, and Cats & Soup: Magic Recipe, alongside established online and rhythm-game properties. The company’s operating model brings together full-cycle game development, publishing, localization, marketing, and ongoing player-facing operations for releases in South Korea and international markets.
