Might and Delight

About Might and Delight

Might and Delight is an independent video game developer and publisher based in Stockholm, Sweden. Founded in 2010 by a core group of industry veterans following the closure of the studio Grin, the company has established a distinct reputation for creating emotionally resonant, atmospheric, and visually unique interactive experiences. The studio is widely recognized for its signature aesthetic, which often features hand-drawn, painterly, or diorama-inspired art styles that prioritize mood and narrative depth over traditional competitive mechanics.

Core Philosophy and Innovation

The studio’s development philosophy centers on creating meaningful, non-violent, and experimental gameplay. This approach is best exemplified by the Shelter series, which explores themes of parenthood and survival through the eyes of animals in the wild. Beyond single-player narratives, Might and Delight has pioneered the "Tiny MORPG" (TMO) genre with titles like Book of Travels and the multiplayer sandbox Meadow. These projects emphasize social connection and exploration, utilizing non-verbal communication systems—such as symbols and emotes—to foster community-driven interaction.

Studio Evolution

Over its fifteen-year history, Might and Delight has navigated significant industry shifts, including a major restructuring in 2021 to ensure long-term sustainability. The studio continues to operate as an original IP developer while occasionally publishing select third-party titles. Recent projects include the cozy decoration simulation Twinkleby (2025) and the atmospheric puzzle-platformer Swing of Things, which is currently in development in partnership with The Fully Arcade. The studio remains committed to its mission of redefining player experiences through artistic storytelling and innovative world-building.
