Makera Games

Overview

Makera Games (publicly branded as Makera) is an independent game development studio based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Specializing in the user-generated content (UGC) ecosystem, the studio focuses on the design, development, and live operations of multiplayer experiences within the Minecraft and Roblox platforms. Since its formal incorporation in 2023, Makera has scaled its portfolio to serve over 1 million monthly active users worldwide, leveraging a data-driven approach to game design, economy management, and community engagement.

Core Capabilities

Makera operates at the intersection of game development, esports, and digital marketing. Its production model is built upon four primary pillars:

• Platform-Native Development: Creating and maintaining persistent multiplayer worlds, simulation games, and tycoon mechanics within Roblox and Minecraft Java Edition.
• Live Operations (LiveOps): Managing continuous content updates, seasonal progression systems, and in-game economies to drive long-term player retention.
• Esports & Competition: Developing structured competitive gaming circuits, such as the Crystal Clans tournament series, which features ranked knockout formats and live-broadcasted events.
• Audience Discovery & Advertising: Utilizing proprietary platforms like MinecraftList to facilitate player acquisition and providing native in-game advertising solutions for brands targeting Gen Z and Gen Alpha demographics.

Strategic Growth

In January 2026, Makera was selected for the third cohort of the NEOM Level Up Accelerator, a prestigious program supporting high-growth gaming startups in Saudi Arabia. This partnership provides the studio with mentorship, production funding, and access to a global network of publishers, further accelerating its mission to build immersive, community-led digital entertainment. The studio maintains a hybrid operating model, combining its Riyadh-based headquarters with a distributed team of developers, artists, and live-ops specialists.
