About Madbox
Madbox is an independent mobile game developer and publisher formed in Paris in May 2018 through the merger of Chou Entertainment and MadJoh. Operating under the public Madbox brand, the company creates casual, hyper-casual and hybrid-casual games for mobile audiences, combining game development with first-party publishing, live operations and data-informed growth.
Its work spans the full game lifecycle: rapid concept development and prototyping, game design, art, engineering, user-acquisition creative production, publishing, in-game economy balancing and ongoing live-game management. Madbox also uses internal automation technology to support rapid game builds and creative generation.
Games and publishing
Madbox’s portfolio includes accessible mobile titles across racing, physics, idle and arcade-oriented play. Notable releases include:
- Stickman Hook, a physics-based swinging game that reached number one globally on iOS and Google Play.
- Pocket Champs, an idle PvP racing game that expanded the studio’s work in hybrid-casual design and live-service operations.
- Dash Valley, the studio’s early 2018 hit.
- Parkour Race, Sausage Flip, Idle Ants, Idle Ball Race, Idle Zoo Tycoon 3D, Golf Race, Sling Racers, Crazy Darts, Car Crash and Jewelry Maker.
Growth and production model
Following Series A financing in 2019, Madbox expanded its production and publishing infrastructure and established a Barcelona operation. In 2025, it opened a third development branch in Annecy focused on early-stage prototyping and original casual-game concepts. The company’s studio model emphasizes small, autonomous teams, rapid iteration and the use of data to inform development and live operations.
Madbox remains active as a French-led mobile-games business, with MADBOX SAS as its primary French legal entity and a Spanish subsidiary supporting its Barcelona presence.
