About LOC studios
The Loc Studios is an independent London-based visual effects, virtual production and colour-grading studio serving independent feature films, episodic television, documentaries and commercials. Founded by VFX and finishing specialists Jaime Leonard and Christopher “Chitty” Andrew Chitty, it combines on-set production support with high-end post-production and final-picture finishing.
The studio’s work spans invisible photoreal VFX, complex compositing, plate augmentation, clean-up, 2.5D and 3D set extensions, CG assets, creature work, environment enhancement and FX simulation. Its virtual-production capability includes real-time camera tracking, LED-volume workflows, motion capture, previs, and Unreal Engine, Nuke and USD pipeline integration.
From set to final delivery
A defining part of the studio’s approach is early involvement in production. Its team supports script breakdowns, previsualisation, HDRI capture, tracking-marker placement, data wrangling and on-set VFX supervision, helping productions capture the material needed for efficient post-production.
The Loc Studios also provides end-to-end finishing, including DI conform, colour grading, online editing, mastering and final delivery. Its in-house glass grading suite supports a unified workflow across conform, VFX, grade and delivery.
Selected work
The studio’s credits include Doctor Who: Wild Blue Yonder, for which it delivered 300 visual-effects shots, as well as 2073, Pillion, The Ballad of Wallis Island, Sense and Sensibility, Fightland, Wild Cherry, Mood, Queenie, Mammals, All of You, Sister Midnight, Hallow Road, Slingshot, Strike: Troubled Blood, No One Gets Out Alive, I Came By, Life on Our Planet and Polar Bear.
Its colour-grading work includes KENNY, 70 Up, Federer: Twelve Final Days and Life Support. In 2026, the studio expanded its senior team to strengthen its 3D, CGI and virtual-production capacity for high-end episodic and feature work.
