About Kuuasema

Kuuasema is an independent game development studio based in Helsinki, Finland. Founded in 2004, it combines full game production, co-development, live operations and platform adaptation with the development of original intellectual property. Its work spans mobile, PC, console and interactive physical gaming platforms.

The studio began with Java ME, Brew and Symbian games for early mobile platforms, working with clients including Nokia and Digital Chocolate. It subsequently expanded into iOS, Android, PC and console development. Across its history, Kuuasema has shipped or contributed to more than 150 commercial releases and interactive projects.

Development and long-term partnerships

Kuuasema supports projects from concept design and prototyping through engineering, art, quality assurance and commercial release. It also supplies dedicated design, engineering and art teams for co-development, and maintains released games through ongoing content and feature updates. Its platform adaptation work includes both native and engine-based titles.

Long-running collaborations form a substantial part of its portfolio. For Rovio, Kuuasema has contributed to several Angry Birds games, including Angry Birds Friends, Angry Birds Journey and seasonal updates to Angry Birds Seasons. Its work with Red Bull Media House includes development and live operations for Dirt Bike Unchained, Offroad Unchained and Bike Unchained 3, released in 2024.

The studio also works with Supercell on Boom Beach, contributing live operations, UI/UX art and engineering features alongside the game's PC adaptation. Other projects include co-development on CrossfireX for Xbox and platform adaptations of Frogmind's BADLAND.

Original and interactive games

Alongside client development, Kuuasema creates its own games. Cthulhu Keeper is its proprietary Lovecraftian stealth-tactics title for PC, distributed through Steam.

Its work beyond conventional screen-based games includes Astro Blade and Mine Time for ValoMotion's ValoArena and ValoJump platforms. The portfolio also includes educational mobile applications, such as Moilo's Moka Mera Lingua, reflecting experience across entertainment, physical interaction and learning-oriented projects.
