KRAFTON, Inc. is a South Korean multinational game company that develops, publishes and operates interactive entertainment through a decentralized Independent Studio System. Established in 2007 as Bluehole, Inc., the company adopted the KRAFTON brand in 2018 and is publicly listed on the Korea Exchange.

The company combines global publishing and live-service operations with autonomous game-development studios. Its work spans PC, console and mobile games, with capabilities in game engineering, publishing, marketing, distribution, localization, community management, anti-cheat operations and esports programming. KRAFTON also invests in external development partnerships and studio incubation while expanding its game intellectual property across multimedia formats.

A major part of KRAFTON's portfolio is built around PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS and its mobile ecosystem, including BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA (BGMI), alongside NEW STATE MOBILE and the life-simulation title inZOI. The company’s broader studio network supports work across battle royale, tactical shooters, MMORPGs, life simulation, action games and AI-native interactive experiences.

Technology and franchise growth

KRAFTON has identified deep learning, AI-driven gameplay and its Co-Playable Character technology as areas of research and development. Its current corporate direction, expressed through the slogan “Pioneer the Undiscovered,” emphasizes new genres, large-scale franchise development and multimedia IP expansion.

The company also operates global publishing, live-operations and regional market-support functions for its games. This includes multi-language customer support, community management, cloud and anti-cheat infrastructure, competitive-gaming operations, tournament organization and broadcasting.

KRAFTON's history includes the global rise of TERA and PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS, later renamed PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS. The success of PUBG helped establish the company as a major global game publisher and supported its transition from the Bluehole corporate identity to KRAFTON. Today, it continues to combine central publishing and technology capabilities with independently operating creative teams.
