Kavaleer Productions

Kavaleer Productions is an independent Irish animation studio and family-entertainment producer founded in Dublin in 2001. Working primarily in 2D animation, the company develops original intellectual property while providing full script-to-screen production, co-production and digital-content services for children’s, preschool and family audiences.

Its work spans concept and script development, character design, rigging, layout, animation and post-production. Kavaleer also develops companion interactive media, including educational applications, e-learning tools and games. Its adaptable 2D production pipelines use Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Animate, Adobe After Effects and CelAction2D.

Children's storytelling with purpose

Kavaleer’s original and co-produced programmes focus on inclusive characters, social empathy and media literacy. Pablo, made with Paper Owl Films for CBeebies and RTÉjr, centres an autistic lead character. Alva's World, created in partnership with CyberSafeKids, introduces young viewers to online safety, while Adam Loves Adventure! features Adam King.

The studio’s wider catalogue includes Boy Girl Dog Cat Mouse Cheese, Kiva Can Do!, Wildernuts, Circle Square, Boj, Garth & Bev, Vanishing Point and MaeBee. Kavaleer has also expanded into animated feature development with The Honey Wars.

International production partner

Kavaleer works with broadcasters, producers and distribution partners on international co-productions, combining original-IP development with work-for-hire animation production. Its programmes have been broadcast in more than 140 countries, and the studio reports more than 270 half-hours of animation produced over its history.

The company’s services support productions from early development through delivery, including production bridging for international partners and projects using Irish and UK screen-production incentives. Its focus on flexible 2D workflows and children’s digital content positions Kavaleer across broadcast television, streaming, educational media and interactive learning.
