About JAM Media

JAM Media is an Irish animation and television production studio creating original children’s, preschool and family entertainment across 2D animation, 3D CGI and live-action/animation hybrid formats. The company develops, produces and distributes story-led television properties, while also providing production services for international co-productions.

Its work spans the full production process, from concept development, scripting and voice recording through character and background design, storyboarding, animatics, animation, compositing, post-production and broadcast delivery. The studio’s production capabilities include Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Animate, Autodesk Maya, Foundry Nuke and Adobe After Effects workflows.

Hybrid storytelling and animation

A particular strength is the combination of live-action settings with animated characters. JAM Media developed proprietary hybrid-animation tools including Headhunter, software used to superimpose photographic and hybrid imagery within animated story pipelines. This approach is central to productions such as Roy, the mockumentary series about a cartoon boy living in the real world, and its related properties Little Roy and The Roy Files.

The studio also produces fully animated and mixed-media preschool programming, with projects ranging from 2D series to CGI character animation and puppet or photo-animation hybrids. Its co-production model supports international partners and can draw on relevant production funding and tax-relief frameworks in Ireland and the United Kingdom.

JAM Media works in children’s and preschool television, broadcast and streaming entertainment, family film and hybrid media, and educational digital entertainment. Its productions have been commissioned or carried by broadcasters and platforms including CBBC, CBeebies, RTÉ, Nickelodeon and Amazon Studios.

Industry initiative

JAM Media co-founded and presents the annual Animation Dingle festival in County Kerry. The event is organized through the separate Dingle Animation Festival Limited vehicle and is presented in partnership with JAM Media as an educational and networking conference connecting students with international animation broadcasters and studios.
