About Imaginary Forces
Imaginary Forces is a Los Angeles-based creative agency, design studio and production company specializing in visual storytelling, brand strategy and motion design. Established in 1996 by Peter Frankfurt, Chip Houghton and Kyle Cooper after their work at R/Greenberg Associates, the studio has helped shape contemporary title-sequence design for film and television.
Its work spans entertainment, broadcast, technology, consumer brands and cultural spaces. The studio creates main titles, motion graphics, identity systems, advertising campaigns, branded content, live-action films and experiential installations. Its multidisciplinary practice also includes research and writing, creative development, campaign ideation and strategic visual communication.
Screen, broadcast and brand work
Imaginary Forces is known for title work including Se7en, Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire, Stranger Things, Band of Brothers, The Pacific, Black Sails and Marvel’s Jessica Jones. Its film and entertainment work also includes the Blade trilogy, Pacific Rim, Minority Report, Spider-Man: No Way Home and the Marvel Studios theatrical identity.
Beyond screen titles, the company develops broadcast packages, commercial campaigns and public-facing experiences. Projects include work for CBS Sports, ESPN and NBC Sports; the Empire State Building Observatory elevator-ceiling experience; and campaigns for PlayStation, Apple, Google, Netflix, Sony Interactive Entertainment and other brands.
