About Hybride
Hybride is a Quebec visual-effects studio founded in 1991 and part of Ubisoft’s techno-creative family. The company creates high-end digital visual effects for feature films, television and other screen productions, combining artistic direction with technical production expertise.
Its work spans photorealistic compositing, CGI, digital environments and matte painting, creature and character animation, dynamic simulations, stereoscopic visual effects, and on-set VFX supervision. The studio also supports look development, modelling, texturing, rigging, data capture, editing and colour-grading pipelines. Machine-learning, procedural workflows and proprietary pipeline development form part of its technical approach.
Screen work
Hybride began with digital effects for commercials, station identification spots and television series before entering international feature-film work with Mimic. Its subsequent credits include Spy Kids, Sin City, 300, Avatar, Pacific Rim, Jurassic World, Arrival, and several Star Wars films, including The Force Awakens, Rogue One, The Last Jedi, Solo, and The Rise of Skywalker.
The studio’s episodic work includes The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor, and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan. For the second season of The Mandalorian, Hybride delivered 883 visual-effects shots while transitioning its production pipeline to remote and hybrid operations.
Growth and production focus
Following Ubisoft’s 2008 acquisition of Hybride Technologies, the studio continued its visual-effects practice while drawing on the wider group’s technologies and knowledge-sharing opportunities. Its 2019 expansion added a second production facility in Montréal to support a growing creative team.
Hybride serves feature-film, broadcast and streaming productions, advertising campaigns, and interactive-entertainment projects such as video-game cinematics. Its body of work reflects a long-running focus on integrating design, simulation, compositing and digital production for ambitious screen storytelling.
