About Hampa Studio

Hampa Studio is an independent Spanish animation production company based in the Valencia metropolitan area. Founded in 1997 as an illustration and animation studio, it evolved into an independent production entity in 2006 with The Adventures of Fluvi and formally incorporated as HAMPA STUDIO, S.L. in 2007.

The studio develops, finances and produces original and co-produced animation across the full production pipeline, from concept development, scripts and storyboards through animation, rendering and compositing. Its work spans theatrical features, television and web series, short films, branded entertainment, commercials and video-game cinematics.

Animation capabilities

Hampa works across traditional and digital 2D animation, 3D CGI, asset modelling and rigging, visual development, character design, storyboarding and animatics. Its production offering also includes technical pipeline integration, custom tools for distributed creative workflows, and international co-production structuring.

Screen and franchise work

Its feature-film work includes co-production and animation contributions to Buñuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles, Memoirs of a Man in Pajamas, Black is Beltza, Mironins: The Movie, 200% Wolf, El Tesoro de Barracuda and Girl and Wolf. The studio has also developed feature projects including A World of Their Own, La Venganza Rodríguez and Solo.

In episodic and branded animation, Hampa has produced work for toy, media and entertainment partners. Credits include Cry Babies Magic Tears, My Talking Tom Shorts, VIP Pets, BFF, Bloopies, Bubiloons, Metazells, Mironins, Alice’s Diary, The Shadownsters, The Zurf and The Adventures of Fluvi.

The company’s short-film output includes Paradise Buffet, The Truth Rejects You, Cornelius, Margarita, The End and Routine: The Prohibition. Alongside original and co-produced IP, Hampa provides animation production, branded-content and game-cinematics services for broadcasters, streaming platforms, consumer-product companies, agencies and game developers.

Leadership and production model

  • Álex Cervantes Bueno is founder, CEO, CCO and director. The executive and creative leadership team also includes Bea Villanueva (Production Manager), Elena Hernández (Chief Financial Officer), Raúl Colomer (Chief Technology Officer), Álvaro García (Executive Producer and Head of International), and Manu González (Director).
  • Hampa operates a hybrid, distributed production model supported by its Valencia-area infrastructure and a remote creative workforce across Spain and Europe.

Technical pipeline

The technical department develops custom in-house Python integrations across Autodesk Maya, Toon Boom Harmony and production databases to support distributed asset workflows.

Recognition

Buñuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles won the Goya Award for Best Animated Film, the European Film Award for Best European Animated Feature, and the Platino Award. The short film Paradise Buffet was a Quirino Award winner and Goya nominee.
