About Gardens
Gardens is an independent game development studio creating an online multiplayer fantasy action-adventure RPG. Founded in 2021, the studio works as a fully distributed team and develops games around cooperative play, exploration, and social encounters between players.
Its debut project is an unannounced persistent PvPvE sandbox ARPG built in Unreal Engine 5. The game is designed as a shifting fantasy world where players can encounter one another as strangers, explore wilderness spaces, and take part in tactile cooperative play and emergent roleplay.
Development focus
Gardens combines full-cycle game development with capabilities in:
- Online multiplayer architecture and PvPvE systems design
- Action-adventure RPG mechanics and cooperative game systems
- Digital world-building and emergent social play
- Unreal Engine 5 development
- Game design, engineering, and proprietary video-game production
The studio's work emphasizes online worlds that support unpredictable player interactions rather than strictly scripted social experiences. Its team operates across North American and European time zones, with a stated focus on sustainable, inclusive, and transparent studio practices.
In 2024, Gardens announced a technology partnership with Pragma to support backend architecture and cross-platform infrastructure for its multiplayer title. The company remains in active production on this debut project.
