Floaty is an independent, venture-backed mobile game development studio based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Founded in 2023 by Abdullah Salah, Fahad Qaysi, and Zeyad Almalki, the studio represents a new generation of Saudi-based developers focused on creating original intellectual property for a global consumer market. Operating from its headquarters at The Garage in Riyadh, Floaty utilizes a hybrid work model that integrates local talent with international expertise to maintain an agile, iterative development culture.

Strategic Focus

Floaty specializes in the development of hybrid-casual mobile games. By bridging the gap between the immediate accessibility of hyper-casual titles and the deep, long-term progression systems of mid-core games, the studio aims to maximize player lifetime value (LTV) and retention. This strategic shift reflects the studio's commitment to building sustainable, long-term product pipelines rather than relying on hit-driven, short-lifecycle development models.

Technical Capabilities

The studio’s engineering infrastructure is built on the Unity 6 engine, with a focus on high-performance mobile optimization. Key technical competencies include:

• LiveOps & Content Delivery: Implementation of addressable asset pipelines for over-the-air (OTA) updates and dynamic A/B testing.
• Mobile Optimization: Expertise in memory management, thermal budgeting, and texture compression to ensure consistent performance across diverse hardware.
• Monetization Architecture: Sophisticated integration of in-app purchases (IAP) and ad mediation to support hybrid-casual revenue models.

Growth & Recognition

Floaty is a graduate of the NEOM Level Up Accelerator, a program that provided the studio with essential mentorship in user acquisition, commercial operations, and business scaling. In July 2026, the studio secured a $1 million Seed funding round led by the Merak Gaming Fund, providing the necessary capital to expand its development team and accelerate its multi-title product roadmap.
