About Eleventh Hour Games
Eleventh Hour Games is an American game-development studio focused on action role-playing games. Founded in 2017, the company began as a distributed collaboration among ARPG fans and has operated remotely from its earliest days, bringing together a global team for game development and live-service support.
Its flagship project is Last Epoch, an action RPG built around deep character progression, skill customization, deterministic crafting and itemization, and seasonal play. The game entered Steam Early Access in April 2019 before its full PC launch on February 21, 2024. The studio continues to operate the title through quarterly live-service cycles while preparing console adaptations for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Development capabilities
Eleventh Hour Games handles its own game production and ongoing operations, including:
- Systems design, software engineering, and full-cycle game production
- Character, creature, and environment art
- Animation, visual effects, audio, quality assurance, and community testing
- Multiplayer backend infrastructure, live operations, player support, and community management
The studio specializes in ARPG systems such as real-time skill trees, character mastery architecture, scalable online play, and community-informed iteration. Its production pipeline uses Unity and supports a live game that is designed to evolve through regular content cycles and player feedback.
In July 2025, KRAFTON, Inc. acquired 100% of Eleventh Hour Games, Inc. through a statutory reverse merger. Eleventh Hour Games remains active as an autonomous creative-studio subsidiary, retaining founder and CEO Judd Cobler as its executive leader. The company has continued to grow its team and develop Last Epoch, including the planned major expansion Last Epoch: Orobyss.
The studio does not offer external work-for-hire or third-party outsourcing services; its work is centered on internally developed games and their long-term operation.
More about Eleventh Hour Games
Leadership and early history
Judd Cobler is the founder and chief executive officer of Eleventh Hour Games. The studio was formed by Cobler and a group of ARPG fans who connected through Reddit.
In April 2018, the team launched a Kickstarter campaign for Last Epoch, raising more than $255,000 from backers. Tencent Games later took a minority, non-controlling investment in early 2022; that investment was resolved through KRAFTON's 2025 acquisition.
Operating model
The company has used a fully remote, globally distributed working model since its establishment, with team members collaborating across the United States, Canada, Europe, South America, and Australasia.
