About Element Animation

Element Animation is an independent English studio producing character-driven 3D and CGI animation for online audiences, commercial clients and live events. Founded in 2010, it combines original entertainment with commissioned production, creating animated shorts, episodic series, music videos, commercials and brand content. Its work centers on character comedy, voice performance and storytelling within stylized digital worlds.

The studio began with a single laptop in a bedroom before developing The Crack!, a slapstick series about three sentient egg roommates living in a kitchen. Originally developed under the working title Yolk, the series established the character humor that would also shape its later game-inspired productions. An Egg's Guide to Minecraft followed in 2012, alongside the studio's growing involvement in the Minecraft creator community.

Villager News became a signature production, presenting Minecraft village life through deadpan news reports and comic adventures. Dan Lloyd provides the voices of the village citizens and reporters. The series helped build an audience for the studio's original work and supported its expansion into commissions for game developers and entertainment brands.

Original entertainment and commissioned work

In 2014, Jazwares and Re-Logic commissioned Element Animation to write and animate Terraria: The Animated Series, a seven-episode production promoting the game's physical toy line. Its work for Mojang includes main-stage skits and ceremony animations for MINECON 2015 and 2016, followed by official Minecraft cinematics and update videos, including the 2019 Village & Pillage update video. Musical collaborations with British rapper Dan Bull include Minecraft-themed animated videos such as Creeper Rap.

Alongside its original productions, Element Animation offers a full animation pipeline spanning ideas, scripts, story development, storyboards, animatics, voice acting and finished CGI production. Its commercial work also extends to event content, gaming assets, resource packs and interactive experiences. Production consultation, narrative review and audience engagement advice complement its animation services, reflecting a business built around both publishing its own entertainment and making commissioned content.
