About EA Create

EA Create is Electronic Arts’ centralized global creative production, co-development and technical-services division. Operating as an internal EA collective rather than an independent studio, it brings together artists, technicians, sound designers, engineers and animators to support game development across EA Entertainment and EA Sports.

Its work spans the production pipeline, from motion and full-performance capture to character and environment art, audio, visual effects, interface design, rigging and technical-art tooling. The division supports console, PC and mobile development, with specialist teams contributing shared craft expertise and production systems across EA’s portfolio.

Craft capabilities

  • Performance and motion capture: Stage capture, virtual-camera operation, data wrangling, facial-motion retargeting and performance-pipeline development.
  • Digitization and character work: High-resolution facial and body scanning, photogrammetry, character modeling, wardrobe, grooming, texturing and look development.
  • Audio and cinematic production: Sound design, voice-over recording, dialogue editing, Foley, music supervision, spatial mixing and interactive audio implementation.
  • Technical art and tools: Rigging, skinning, blendshapes, procedural art pipelines, bespoke toolsets, engine optimization and cross-discipline engineering.
  • Interface and visual production: UI/UX design, cinematics, narrative animation, virtual production, visual effects and external-development art-direction support.

EA Create’s history traces to the original EA Capture Lab, established at EA Canada in Burnaby in 1996 to support annual sports-game production. Over time, EA expanded its centralized services to encompass a broader range of art, animation, audio, technical and interface disciplines. The modern EA Create identity was developed to unify these distributed craft teams under one global brand architecture.

The division’s work has supported projects including EA Sports FC 24 and FC 25, Apex Legends, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Battlefield 2042, Battlefield 6, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Dead Space (2023), Madden NFL 24 and NFL 25, EA Sports College Football 25, Need for Speed Unbound, NHL 24 and UFC 5.

As a shared internal partner, EA Create helps EA development studios apply specialized production talent, capture technology and technical pipelines across major game franchises.
