About Digital District

Digital District is an independent French visual-effects and high-end post-production studio founded in Paris in 2008 by VFX supervisor and entrepreneur David Danesi. The company delivers full-lifecycle work for feature films, television, streaming productions and advertising, combining creative development, on-set expertise and finishing within an international production pipeline.

VFX and post-production

Its capabilities span concept design and art direction, on-set supervision and LiDAR scanning, previsualization and technical layout, 2D compositing, matte painting, 3D animation and modelling, and photorealistic digital environments and creatures. The studio also handles complex fluid and particle simulation, motion design, motion capture, beauty work, digital colour grading, dailies and digital-laboratory workflows, alongside sound design, mixing and audio post-production.

Digital District’s international structure supports productions seeking European audiovisual incentives, including French tax-rebate packaging, Belgian Tax Shelter arrangements and regional funding access. Its Mumbai operation contributes CGI, rotoscoping, preparation, 3D modelling and compositing workflows alongside its European teams.

Screen and advertising work

The studio’s reported credits include Sous la Seine, Becoming Karl Lagerfeld, The Serpent Queen, Furies, La Cage, Acide, Astérix & Obélix: L'Empire du Milieu, The Deep House, Playmobil: The Movie and The Artist. Its commercial work includes projects for Winamax, Canal+, Cartier, ManoMano, Peugeot, Boursobank, Lacoste, Lancôme, Air France and Total.

Digital District operates within the Digital District Entertainment group, alongside colour-grading and laboratory business Color and affiliated production activity. In 2024, a Paris commercial court approved a nine-year continuation plan following restructuring proceedings, allowing the operating company to continue delivering projects and pursuing international contracts. The studio is a member of France VFX and holds Trusted Partner Network certification.
