Creative and production capabilities
The studio’s work encompasses:
- Visual development, concept art, matte painting, character design, storyboarding and animatic editorial
- 3D asset creation, including modelling, surfacing, texturing, rigging and character performance
- Character hair and fur grooming with Yeti, alongside 2D effects and character animation using Toon Boom Harmony
- Lighting, rendering and compositing, supported by Autodesk Maya, Maxon Redshift, Blackmagic Fusion and Adobe After Effects
- Pipeline-tool development using Python and custom technical architecture
Cosmic Dino also provides production consulting for Australian animation projects, including guidance on qualifying production expenditure and available production incentives.
Feature-animation focus
The company works across children’s and family entertainment, animated features, broadcast and streaming series, specials and digital episodic content. Its production experience includes animation work on feature films such as Scarygirl, Combat Wombat: Back 2 Back, The Sloth Lane, The Pout-Pout Fish and The Lost Tiger, as well as the children’s miniseries Smiling Mind Creek and the web series Professor Eggtop’s Extraordinary Experiments.
The studio is also producing full 3D CG animation for Bluey: The Movie, a theatrical feature scheduled for release in 2027. Its expanded Brisbane production base supports long-form feature pipelines with dedicated editorial, review, rendering and collaborative animation resources.
Cosmic Dino combines artist-led storytelling with an integrated production pipeline, offering partners a single studio for concept development, animation production, finishing and delivery.
