About Copernicus Studios
Copernicus Studios is a Halifax-based animation and entertainment content development and production company founded in 2003. The studio develops, finances and produces original animated intellectual property while providing full-service 2D digital and traditional animation for film, broadcast television and streaming partners.
Its production approach combines classical hand-drawn animation with digital cutout workflows, character and background design, storyboarding, layout, rigging, compositing and visual effects. The company also supports pre-production, original-content development, co-financing and international co-production structures, with a focus on both service work and studio-owned properties.
Animation for series, features and digital platforms
Copernicus works across children's programming, youth series, adult animated comedy, feature releases, commercials, music videos and interactive entertainment. Its supported credits include multi-season work on Teen Titans Go!, Solar Opposites, Rock, Paper, Scissors, Curious George, The Loud House, Care Bears: Unlock the Magic, Trailer Park Boys: The Animated Series and If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.
The studio has also contributed to Teen Titans GO! To The Movies, Pickle and Peanut, Krypto the Superdog, Krypto Saves The Day, Wild Grinders and animated music videos for Nelly Furtado, “Weird Al” Yankovic and Jimmy Swift Band.
Original IP and transmedia development
Alongside production services, Copernicus develops original properties and expands them across formats. Lana Longbeard is a 52-episode action-comedy series co-produced with Zephyr Animation, Super RTL and CBC Gem; the property was extended into a Unity-built PC game released on Steam. The studio also developed Death Castle, a 2D comedic short made with writer Mr. Lawrence and Craig Kellman.
Copernicus serves domestic and international partners in broadcast, theatrical, streaming, advertising and games. Its work combines traditional 2D craft with proprietary digital pipeline development, supporting both established entertainment franchises and new creator-led projects.
