About Cheeky Little

Cheeky Little is an Australian animation studio and creator-led producer of original children’s and family entertainment. Founded in 2013 by animation director David Webster and executive producer Patrick Egerton, the company develops character-driven properties intended to travel across television, streaming, film, interactive formats and consumer products.

The studio combines original IP incubation with end-to-end animation production. Its work spans concept development, scripting, storyboarding, character and world design, 2D animation, 3D/CGI animation, lighting, compositing and post-production. Cheeky Little also integrates real-time workflows using Unreal Engine for long-form narrative animation, while its commercial operations extend to brand management, licensing, retail merchandising and immersive experiences.

Original worlds for young audiences

Cheeky Little’s slate includes preschool, comedy and adventure properties made for international broadcasters and platforms. Its credits include:

The studio has worked with broadcasters and platforms including ABC Kids, BBC/CBeebies, Disney and Netflix. Beyond episodic series, it has developed the Vegesaurs Immersive Experience at Luna Park Sydney and is co-producing the animated feature film Zac Power with Flying Bark Productions and Pixel Zoo Animation Studios.

From production to brand building

Cheeky Little operates as more than a work-for-hire animation facility: it develops and scales its own entertainment brands through production, licensing and consumer-facing extensions. Its production capabilities encompass both traditional and CGI animation, supported by real-time technology, while its commercial model supports global multi-platform licensing and merchandising for its original properties.

Current development projects include Spaced Az, developed with Nick Boshier, and The Last Dodo.

Founders’ background

Before establishing Cheeky Little, animation director David Webster founded Ambience Entertainment and created Erky Perky and The Adventures of Figaro Pho. Executive producer Patrick Egerton previously worked in visual effects and animation at Animal Logic and Chief Productions.

Technology recognition

Cheeky Little received an Epic Games MegaGrant to advance real-time animation pipelines for long-form narrative series.
