AUM Animation Studios

AUM Animation Studios is an independent Indian animation production company based in Mangaluru, Karnataka. It creates original animated intellectual property and provides 2D and 3D animation services for television, digital platforms and commercial projects. Character animation, visual storytelling and non-dialogue comedy are central to its work.

The studio began operations in 2009 as Bluepixels Animation Studios. Its subsequent rebrand to AUM Animation Studios reflected a shift toward developing and producing in-house intellectual property alongside client production work. The current legal entity was incorporated in August 2016, continuing the studio's earlier operating history.

Original stories and international production

The studio's debut original series, Andy Pirki, follows the comic adventures of an orphaned pink dinosaur and his human companion. Conceived during the studio's inception year, the property uses slapstick and non-dialogue storytelling. It secured a broadcast partnership with Turner India and premiered on POGO in December 2017.

AUM also served as the primary animation production studio for the 2023 Singapore-set Tom and Jerry miniseries for Warner Bros. Discovery Asia-Pacific. The production brought AUM together with Singaporean studios Robot Playground Media and Chips and Toon Studios, extending its character-comedy work into an international collaboration.

Production capabilities

AUM's animation work spans concept development, character design, storyboarding, animatics and finished series and short-film production. Its capabilities include both 3D character animation and hand-drawn digital animation, supported by an open-source production pipeline.

Beyond entertainment, the studio offers visual effects for television and film, architectural walkthroughs, product animation and digital graphic art. Its visualization services also include animated charts and graphs, medical imagery, industrial simulations and clay character animation. These capabilities support work for broadcast entertainment, children's and family programming, advertising, architecture and specialist visualization markets.

The studio combines the development of its own characters and properties with animation production for external partners, serving both Indian and international projects.
