AIC Studios

AIC Studios was a Canadian animation, visual effects, and digital post-production studio established in 2013 under the AMBI Canada umbrella. The Toronto-based operation combined feature-animation production with VFX and finishing services for film and television, working across CGI animation, compositing, stereoscopic conversion, character work, motion capture, modelling, rigging and digital matte painting.

Its production capabilities covered a full CGI pipeline for features and series, alongside pre-visualization, on-set VFX supervision, green-screen extraction, post-production compositing and 2D-to-stereoscopic 3D conversion. The studio also provided film co-financing and production services.

Screen work

AIC Studios' best-known project was the feature-length CGI animation Arctic Dogs—also released internationally as Arctic Justice: Thunder Squad—for which it led animation and VFX work in Toronto. Its credited work also includes visual effects and post-production on In Dubious Battle, Rupture, Andron, East End, The Humbling, 2047: Sights of Death, Before I Go to Sleep, and Three Touches.

The studio operated as the North American digital production and animation wing of the AMBI Media Group consortium. Its corporate entity, AIC Studios Inc., was dissolved for non-compliance under the Canada Business Corporations Act on November 29, 2022. The former production facility had already wound down following the 2019 release of Arctic Dogs, and the remaining website is described in the research as an inactive legacy installation.
