About Aglagla

Aglagla was a Lyon-based French audiovisual and multimedia production company created in 2012 to develop, finance, produce and distribute screen, broadcast and public-exhibition adaptations of The Anooki character universe. Structured as a dedicated production vehicle alongside the digital design studio Inook, it combined animation, narrative development and architectural projection work around the characters created by Moetu Batlle and David Passegand.

Its work included animated content for web and television, monumental video-mapping productions and public-space entertainment. In 2014, Aglagla and Inook produced an animated Anooki web series with France Télévisions' Nouvelles Écritures, released on France4.fr. The company also contributed content for international light-festival presentations, including a projection on Hong Kong's General Post Office.

Selected work

  • Anooki Web Series (2014), co-produced with France Télévisions' Nouvelles Écritures
  • Les Anooki, notre incroyable Odyssée (2023), an environmental animated documentary distributed by Aglagla
  • Fête des Lumières video mappings at Gare Saint-Paul (2012) and the Opéra de Lyon (2014)
  • Projection-mapping presentations for light festivals in Hong Kong, Dubai, Sharjah, Geneva and Osaka

Aglagla ceased business activity in 2023 following completion of its production mandates. The company was dissolved and struck off the Lyon Trade and Companies Register; ongoing Anooki artistic installations and mappings continue under Inook's stewardship.

More about Aglagla

Leadership and recognition

  • Marc Guidoni served as Aglagla's president from incorporation until its dissolution and was appointed liquidator in 2023. Designers Moetu Batlle and David Passegand co-founded the production company and created the Anooki characters.
  • Aglagla won the Ateliers Orange de la Création in 2012. Its 2012 Anooki mapping at Lyon's Gare Saint-Paul won a Trophée des Lumières, followed by a second Trophée des Lumières for the 2014 Opéra de Lyon presentation.

Operating model

Aglagla was established with Marc Guidoni as a specialist production vehicle to bring the Anooki project to audiovisual formats. The characters originated as animated Inook website screensavers in 2000 and later developed into a broader public-art and media property.
