About Adventure Studios

Adventure Studios is a commercial photography and film/video production studio led by photographer and director John Linn. The independent Brainerd, Minnesota business creates advertising imagery and motion work for active-lifestyle, outdoor, marine, powersports, automotive, industrial and healthcare clients.

Its work combines commercial still photography, brand films, television spots, digital campaigns, product action reels and environmental portraiture. The studio is particularly equipped for challenging location productions, including high-speed on-water shoots, off-road action, snowmobile and equipment campaigns, and mobile productions that require lighting, tracking and aerial capture.

Production capabilities

  • Commercial still photography for studio, industrial, automotive, catalog, lifestyle and portrait assignments
  • Commercial film and video production, including multi-camera brand films, broadcast spots and social campaigns
  • Marine and watercraft cinematography using specialized waterborne camera platforms
  • Aerial and drone cinematography, gyro-stabilized tracking, and gimbal-based camera operation
  • On-set wireless monitoring and tethered client proofing
  • Post-production services including retouching, compositing, color balancing and CGI scene integration
  • Digital imaging technician workflows for ingestion, verification, cataloging and secure field archiving

Adventure Studios supports productions with mobile basecamp logistics, lighting equipment and field workstations that can travel across the United States. This operating model enables the team to work close to products and environments—from lakes and waterways to trails, industrial sites and outdoor destinations—while maintaining a streamlined client-review and asset-management process.

The studio has produced campaigns and visual content for organizations including Polaris Industries, American Trailer Works and its Big Tex and PJ Trailers brands, Avalon, Tahoe and Aura Pontoons, Godfrey Marine, Winnebago, Beretta Firearms, Cuyuna Regional Medical Center and the Initiative Foundation. Recent work includes Duratracks campaigns in Minnesota and Montana, 2025 work for Allied Fire Protection and ATW Trailers, and on-water imagery for pontoon and marine brands.

Founded in 2005, the business developed from the Brainerd creative enterprise originally co-founded by Linn and Scott Mitchell. While the advertising operation later developed separately as Adventure Creative Group, Adventure Studios continued as Linn's independent commercial production and photography practice.
